We currently have four Purebred Devon sires, including an embryo bull from Rotokawa 688 and one from Rotokawa 982.
Our primary herd sire (Sunny) is a 3 year old Rotokawa 688 son that is the product of an embryo flush on an 18 year old cow, Effinghams Sunny T49, a Tomotley’s Red Sunsent daughter. This bull is extremely easy fleshing, linear measures 3.43 and meets all ratio requirements for optimum performance on grass. His measurements are: HG +4.5, FG +1, SW +3, RL 39%, RW 47%. We are really excited about this bull and are eagerly awaiting his first crop of calves this spring. (pictures of Sunny coming soon).
Our newest future herd sire is a just weaned embryo bull out of Henderson 7 and Rotokawa 982. He is the first purebred Devon to be born on Hidden-Vue Farm and is aptly named Hidden-Vue Alpha. (pictures of Alpha coming soon)
Lakotas P5 and P7 were the first two purebred Devons to be purchased and brought onto the farm. They were purchased from Lakota Ranch in VA and yes that is a long way to drive to pickup some bulls.
